About Us

Twin Sisters Native Plants Nursery is meeting an established need in an existing market by supporting the improvement of restoration and reclamation work in Northeastern BC.

The purpose of the nursery is to propagate and distribute native plant species for ecological restoration and remediation of mining and other industrial projects while incorporating Indigenous values and beliefs. Through our use of native plants, we can ensure the long-term ecological health of BC through the restoration of disturbed landscapes.

History and experience

Since 2012, Twin Sisters Native Plants Nursery at Moberly Lake 2012 has established itself as a leader in native plant propagation and distribution across B.C. Through a comprehensive seed collection process and an environmentally and socially responsible growth, we have become a top-tier native plants supplier to our clientele.

The first crop of native plants was propagated in 2013 and the initial commercial crop was produced in 2014. Among the first customers were BC Hydro, Pattern Energy (Meikle Wind project) and Conuma Coal.

Today, eight staff work at the nursery, swelling to about 24 workers seasonally when plants are being shipped. All employees, with the exception of the head grower, are members of the Saulteau and West Moberly First Nation communities.
